Another One for the Music Geeks

The Instructions:
Put your MP3 player on shuffle, and write down the first line of the first twenty songs. Post the poem that results. The first line of the twenty-first is the title.

On my end I'm discounting all the intro noises - like "Oh", "Yeah" and "Uh" at the beginning of rap songs. And songs not in English. And instrumentals, duh.

If I Could Catch a Star Before It Touched the Ground

This is the beat that make you shake your rump
I know 'coz I've seen it
So you say that you can't go on
Don't say you love me when it's just a rumour

So if you're lonely you know I'm here waiting for you
I do believe in you
The sky glows
Sometimes it's hard just to be yourself

When we grew up and went to school there were certain teachers who would hurt the children anyway they could
Little child

Our words move aimlessly through empty city squares

I'm sitting here in a boring room
I was sitting on a fence
She said life’s a lot to think about sometimes
If you're trying to maintain

I seen a shooting star tonight
6 am the clock is ringing
It was one of those nights when you turn out the lights
I'm just trying to get by

Just let me hear some of that rock n' roll
