I am somehow obsessing about movies. I've reached that sort of point again where I realise for the hundreth time that I am meant to do something in entertainment, and preferably being part of someone's above the line costs, for once. But sometimes I think I don't care, I'd fetch coffee just to have the chance to glimpse the process.
But those are thoughts for another time. In the meantime, here is another movie meme. I'll try, for the sake of keeping interest, not to use the same movies as before.
1. One movie that made you laugh:
In Bruges. Colin Farrell has this sort of understated funnyman charm about him.
2. One movie that made you cry:
You know, this is actually proving to be a bit difficult to pick out. And all memes seem to think it a necessary question. Gee, I feel like a heartless person. There is something about watching a movie in public that makes me incapable of spontaneous deep emotions. In any event, I don't really watch sad movies much.
3. One movie you loved when you were a child:
Ace Ventura, Pet Detective. I had questionable taste, and this probably skewed my mind growing up, I'll give you that.
4. One movie you’ve seen more than once:
Let's just name the ones I watched this year. This is It. A respectable choice. And um, Twilight. Oh, shoot, I liked the movie even if the book was next to intolerable. More on that soon enough, as I have promised Qiong I would try to do a review on the whole Twilight franchise madness.
5. One movie you loved, but were embarrassed to admit it:
If I were embarrassed to admit it, why the heck would I write it here? That said, there's seldom anything I love that I won't admit to.
6. One movie you hated:
Silent Hill. Hurhur, it was so intensely stupid. Although it was entertaining for that reason.
7. One movie that scared you:
Scream. A little bit. I was thirteen, dude.
8. One movie that bored you:
Oh, there are many. The most surprising of which was Brick. I expected to love it, modernised film noir and all that.
9. One movie that made you happy:
Step Up 2: The Streetz. Watching the character Moose just makes me smile. The finale dance, of course, made me happy, in an intensely jealous sort of way.
10. One movie that made you miserable:
Huh? It's a movie. It's fiction. Miserable simi?
11. One movie you weren’t brave enough to see:
American Psycho. I have it, I just can't bring myself to watch it without someone to hold my hand.
12. One movie character you’ve fallen in love with:
Ethan Hunt of Mission Impossible. Played by Tom Cruise in the days that he was still cool and not a cradle snatcher.
13. The last movie you saw:
Sherlock Holmes. I give it a B+ or A-. Props for accuracy and being true to the spirit of Sir Arthur's creation. Thumbs down for bringing everything to an entirely too convenient end, with all answers being in the ginger midget's lab. Now that's just not very good weaving of a detective story - Sir Arthur would have expected more. Sheer confusion about Robert Downey Jr looking a bit too much like Gregory House.
14. The next movie you hope to see:
Avatar. I just have to go and deal with that eventually.
And there you are.
[well, the pictures aren't going to take themselves!]
